Description

CONCUSSION!

      By Clayton Shiu

Concussions are even more common than you might have realized. Patients may present with conditions ranging from a pulled hamstring, a tight shoulder, and insomnia to brain fog and not realize that these conditions can be part of a Concussion presentation. Did you know that lingering Concussion symptoms can mimic Long Covid? Attendees will develop comprehensive assessments to recognize red flags and symptoms not generally associated with Concussion that may belie a past concussion, and that may change the direction of treatment plans, patient expectations, and care plans. Topics will include managing under-recognized symptoms like digestive disorders, allergies, tremors, tinnitus, sinusitis, and more.  Treatment options we will explore will include acupuncture protocols, herbal recommendations, qigong exercises, and more.

OBJECTIVES

  • Recognize common, less familiar, and red flag symptoms of Concussion
  • Discriminate between symptoms that may be resulting from a concussion or not.
  • Define protocols and techniques to treat Concussion and concussion-related conditions
