COURSE DESCRIPTION
Despite our natural inclination to shun pain, studies have consistently proven its inherent value as a protective mechanism. This innocuous 4-letter word has the uncanny ability to disrupt our daily routines, yet by delving into the mechanisms and behaviors associated with pain, we can actively adapt our perspectives and effectively decrease its impact on our lives. Join Troy Lavigne, Director of Education for CO-AMTA, who has authored many articles on pain and worked with multiple Olympics Associations and Sports Teams, for tools to decrease pain and increase ease for your acupuncture, massage, nursing and other clients.
BIO
Troy Lavigne is the Director of Education for the CO-AMTA since 2015. He holds an AOS deree with honors from Boulder College of Massage Therapy. He has worked with work with many different Olympic Associations and in many countries. His work in sports includes the Women’s Tennis Association, Colorado Rapids Soccer team, Trek Factory Racing Olympic Mountain Bike Team, Canadian BMX World Cup Team, USA Pan/Am Mountain Bike Team, Australian World Championship Mountain Bike Team, and more. His articles have been published in Advanced Healing Journal and Massage Therapy Media.
