Dr. Greg Lane
Doctor Gregory Lane is the Director of Clinical Services for Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) San Diego, clinical supervisor and faculty member in the Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine program (DACM). He is a California Licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist.  He is also a Nationally Certified Acupuncturist through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).  Gregory has been in private practice for over 23 years and enjoys working with a diverse population of patients.  During this time he has enjoyed a diverse and extensive professional career in multiple areas of medicine, including hospital privileges at Century City Hospital and working in interdisciplinary teams since the early 1990’s.  In his private practice he serves a wide range of patient populations including women’s health, orthopedics, pain management and drug and alcohol detoxification.   Gregory believes in prevention and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle, incorporating diet, mindfulness, Tai Chi and Qi Gong principles into his practice.  He enjoys assisting patients achieve a baseline of health and vitality that is sustained through proper maintenance, thus preventing injury and disease.

Education
Gregory has a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine degree and a Master of Science degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. Prior to his acupuncture career he was a professional dancer and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from California Institute of the Arts.

Experience
Prior to joining Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2014 as Director of Clinical Services, Gregory managed operations for Healthyroads™ Total Population Health Coaching for American Specialty Health.  In this role Gregory oversaw the day-to-day operations of a staff of 120 Health Coaches and supervisors helping members achieve their health goals in weight management, tobacco cessation and stress management. Gregory most recently created the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine brand of Herbal products working closely with Tianjiang Pharmaceutical Company, Jiangyin, China and TCMzone, Tempe AZ. Gregory was co-owner of California Medical Arts Group in Santa Monica, CA.  During this time he also worked in Century City Hospital as part of an integrated pain management group and alongside Dr. David Kipper, M.D. in Beverly Hills working as part of a drug and alcohol detox program.  As an author, Gregory co-wrote the Elixir Tonics & Teas Practitioner’s Herbal Product Guide, and has published articles for the Oriental Medical Times, Acupuncture Today and Chiropractic Economics.  He has been a featured subject matter expert interviewed on television and radio shows including KPBS, San Diego and On Air with Ryan Seacrest, KYSR Los Angeles.  

Gregory has maintained a private acupuncture practice since graduating PCOM in 1993. He currently leads annual study trips to China, where students can deepen their clinical understanding and gain a deeper understanding of traditional herbal product use, contemporary development and production.
