Gynecological conditions are a common complaint from many patients. Fortunately for your patients, Chinese herbal medicine is particularly effective at treating these symptoms.

  • The student will have an overview of Western medical criteria for premenstrual syndrome, dysmenorrhea and menopausal disorder
  • The student will be able to identify and differentiate various TCM syndromes of the liver and kidney that contribute to these disorders
  • The student will be able to identify and differentiate classical and modern Chinese herbal formulas appropriate for gynecological health

Start from the ground up by learning how modern biomedicine defines gynecological conditions and what symptoms accompany them, and then how to model those same conditions according to the TCM model. Jake will discuss the TCM theory surrounding each condition, such as the liver blood, heat, and yin problems that can occur with PMS, before advising you on specifically which herbal products are best used to alleviate symptoms of each condition.
