Course Description

Accessory Techniques for Bodyworkers educates the student in the therapeutic and safe application of techniques and accessory tools used in both the Eastern and Western bodywork traditions.  

Course Learning Objectives:                                  

  • The tastes, temperature, and actions of herbs, alone and in combinations, for use in external therapeutic application in bodywork treatments such as liniments and various types of compresses
  • The cultural and historical backgrounds and benefits of therapeutic scraping
  • How increasing erythema fosters the release of accumulated hypertonicity, disperses stubborn adhesions, and breaks up fibrotic tissue
